Asphalt Works

Asphalt Milling & Reinstatement

After utility excavations, road damage, or as part of a rehabilitation programme, precise cold milling and high-quality asphalt reinstatement are critical to restoring road performance and safety. Our teams use calibrated milling machines and follow a rigorous reinstatement process that matches or exceeds the original road specification.

Our Reinstatement Process

Cold Milling

Remove damaged asphalt to exact specified depth using drum milling machine. Typical depth: 40–100mm.

Tack Coat Application

Bitumen emulsion (SS-1 or RS-1) applied to milled surface at 0.3–0.5 L/m² for bond between layers.

Hot Mix Asphalt Laying

DBM binder course then AC10 / AC14 wearing course, laid at 130–160°C, compacted to ≥95% Marshall density.

Quality Testing

Sand cone / nuclear density gauge compaction testing. Core sampling for layer thickness verification.

Cold milling to any specified depth with precision drum planer

Paving Works

All Types of Paving

From intricate public realm block paving to large-scale commercial concrete surfaces, Gulbaz delivers all forms of paving with precision and durability. Our teams are experienced in the full range of paving systems used across UAE infrastructure and development projects.

Interlocking Concrete Block Paving (ICBP)

60mm pedestrian / 80mm vehicular blocks. Patterns: 45° herringbone, 90° herringbone, stretcher bond, basket weave. Bedding: 25–40mm washed sharp sand. Sub-base: Type 1 granular 150–200mm, compacted to 95% MDD.

Concrete Slab Paving

In-situ or precast concrete slabs C25/30 with steel reinforcement (A142/A193 mesh). Anti-slip brushed or exposed aggregate finish. Expansion joints at 4–6m intervals with sealant.

Permeable Paving

Open-graded crushed stone sub-base, permeable blocks or porous asphalt surface. Designed to Dubai Municipality SuDS requirements. Reduces stormwater runoff and urban heat island effect.

Road Lighting Trenching

Street and road lighting is critical infrastructure in the UAE's extreme heat environment. We provide accurate, safe, and authority-compliant trenching for all road lighting schemes — from new developments to lighting upgrade programmes across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and the Northern Emirates.

Drainage

Stormwater Drainage Systems

The UAE's intense seasonal rainfall demands well-engineered stormwater management systems. Gulbaz designs and installs complete stormwater drainage networks — from roadside gully pots to major collector mains — ensuring rapid clearance of surface water and protecting roads and properties from flood damage.

System Components We Install

Stormwater Pipes

Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) Class III & IV, HDPE, GRP — diameters 300mm to 1200mm+. Laid to gradient, bedded on Class B granular or concrete cradle.

Manholes & Chambers

Precast concrete manholes (1050mm–1500mm dia) or in-situ formed chambers. Heavy-duty D400 / E600 covers to BS EN 124 for carriageway locations.

Gully Pots & Catch Basins

Roadside kerb inlets, combined kerb-and-gully units, and deep-sump gully pots with locking ironwork. Spaced to Dubai Municipality hydraulic design standards.

Outfall Structures

Headwalls, wing walls, and energy dissipators at all outfall points. Scour protection with rock armour or concrete aprons.

Civil Works

Infrastructure & Concrete Works

The civil works elements of any road or streetscape project require precision, quality materials, and experienced craftsmen. Gulbaz delivers the full range of associated infrastructure works — from precast kerbing and in-situ concrete channels to subgrade stabilization and earthworks — to the highest UAE standards.

Kerbing & Edging

Precast concrete L-kerb, C-kerb, D-kerb, and combined kerb-drain units. Installed on C20 concrete haunching with flexible road base backing. All kerb types to BS EN 1340. Radius kerbs for junction splays and roundabouts.

Footpaths & Hardstanding

In-situ concrete footpaths C25/30 with A142 mesh reinforcement, 100mm thick. Anti-slip broom finish or exposed aggregate. Maximum 2% cross-fall. Tactile paving at all crossing points per RTA pedestrian standards.

Channels & Drainage Channels

V-channels, dish channels, U-channels, and precast concrete channels. ACO/HAURATON polymer channel systems for commercial areas. Installed to falls with rodding eyes for maintenance.

Subgrade & Earthworks

Bulk excavation, cut-to-fill earthworks, and subgrade stabilization using lime or cement treatment where CBR is insufficient. Proof-rolling and plate load testing to verify formation bearing capacity before paving.

Mobilisation & Setup

Approved NOCs obtained from all relevant authorities (RTA, DM, DEWA, Police). Site establishment, hoarding, and traffic management in place before any excavation.

Construction

Works executed by our skilled teams using modern plant and equipment, with daily quality checks, compaction testing, and photographic progress records.

QA Testing & Inspections

All materials tested on arrival. Compaction, levels, and thicknesses verified at each stage. Third-party test results submitted to client and engineer.

Handover & As-Builts

Site cleaned, defects rectified, and as-built drawings submitted. All test certificates, material approvals, and warranties provided at handover.
